baby L

Okay, so I love photography. And I love writing. Put these together and whaddaya get? A blog. I have a blog — the one you are reading right now (duh). I *SHOULD* love my blog, but I am a very bad blog mommy. I blame my arch-nemesis, procrastination. I will try to improve, but procrastination is as much a part of me as my curly hair, and it’s probably not going anywhere.

Anyhow, here is sweet baby L, from back before I moved. Her mom and dad’s maternity photos are in the post right before this. Such a little lovey!

When Michael and Lauren found out their firstborn would be a baby girl, Michael didn’t quite know what to think of a future filled with pink, bows, and lace. Naturally, he was elated, but a bit apprehensive…it was actually really cute. Here’s a post he made on Facebook: “Thinking of my daughter brings to mind how ignorant I am what it means to be female. @Women – what’s your favorite thing about being a woman?” Haha!!

Little miss Lilly (whose newborn pics are coming up in a separate post) is so blessed to have such amazing, loving, smart, funny parents who love the Lord with their whole hearts. Her parents loved her before she was born, but God loved Lilly before she was created. I think these photos definitely captured some of the love….and laughter  :)

There’s just something so special about the bond between brothers. This sweet family has the silliest, cutest, most energetic boys EVER, and they had so much fun being goofballs! You could make the funniest flipbook with all the hilarious expressions they’re capable of. See below for a few examples  :)

I **loved** this session with sweet baby E. Such a tiny cutie! I have to think she enjoyed her first experience as a model, at the mere age of 6 days (that window of 4-12 days is the “golden” time to get those precious shots of newborns when they are still so tiny and sleepy). I brought my usual arsenal of hats/headbands/blankets to this family’s house, but the prop that stole the show was a DARLING little owl hat that baby E’s mom made herself! Be still my heart  :)

PJ and Chris….I don’t even know how to describe them. They are just the kind of people you want as friends; the sort that are sweet, genuine, never pretentious, and once they count you as a friend, you’re in for life. They have total goo-goo eyes for each other, and it’s the sweetest thing to watch. As PJ put it, “a little PDA never hurt anyone!”

A big thank-you to my AMAZING second shooter, Courtney! www.courtneymoorephotography.com

She’s a cat lover; he’s a dog devotee. She loves the ocean; he prefers his feet on land. He loves to tease her lightheartedly, and she has perfected the cutesy eye-roll in return. They’re a fun couple  :)

Andrew and Sherry’s paths led them to cross as freshmen at Hawaii Pacific University, and they’ve been inseparable ever since, even enduring times of long-distance dating. Sherry being my sister-in-law meant that she and Andrew were comfortable with me, and it was so fun spending an afternoon doing their engagement session! They were *so* stinkin’ cute together and had no problem being all kissy-face (even with Sherry’s mom and brother watching!)  These two have tons of fun together and are such a wonderful match — just watching them together makes me smile. Their wedding is going to be amazing and I can’t wait to see Sherry become Mrs. Elder!!!

Brad and Alli are special friends of ours. Their little boy Graham was the VERY first newborn I ever photographed, so when baby #2 was announced I was super excited to photograph their new little blessing. Baby H was seriously THE most chill little baby I have ever had in front of my lens. He was just so happy and smiley! This family is just too precious and make the perfect little family of 4!

I just love sweet P’s spirit and smile. I have known her forever and I swear she gets more gorgeous by the year. She is SO sweet and is a genuinely caring, loving child. If I ever have a daughter I want her to be just like her!

Last summer, I donated a session to a charity auction benefitting the United Way. This sweet family was the winner, and I am so glad they were! We had a fun afternoon in Old Town Spring, just walking around and being silly. Nothing sweeter than kids laughing!

Baby D’s parents are good friends with Baby J’s parents, so these two little boys are already playmates! Such a sweet little chunky monkey….
